Invitation to the Global Ecovillage Network-Europe Conference 2016

Celebrating 20 years of leadership in connecting ecovillages and communities for a sustainable world!

Global Ecovillage Network (GEN)-Europe warmly invites to join its annual Conference in honouring the elders of the ecovillage movement, celebrating the present holders of energy from all of Europe and continuing to look ahead with the next generation at where our learning edge for sustainable living is now.
“Together, we will share realistic glimpses of possibility and hope for a thriving future.
GEN has a wealth of inspiration to offer, emphasising local solutions to global challenges and demonstrating the creation of a different world is possible!
At this conference, GEN Europe will provide a direct link of friendship and understanding between people which enables us to feel that we are working towards solutions for one planet.”
The conference will take place on 4-8 July in the ecovillage Arterra Bizimodu in Spain. The venue is located in a former rural hotel “Palacio del Pirineo” in a village called Artieda, which belongs to the Chartered Community of Navarra (Comunidad Foral de Navarra), Spain.

Artieda is situated approximately 40 kilometres away from Pamplona, Navarra’s capital city. The full address is: Arterra Bizimodu, Calle Abajo 1, Artieda, Navarra, 31480, Spain

During the conference there will be a dedicated space Ecovillage Sustainable Technologies Expo, to demonstrate how ecovillages can contribute to reduce CO2 emission using appropriate technologies or using simple solutions  accessible to all. We are inviting members of ecovillages to share, demonstrate or present technologies coming from their community, or from traditional knowledge,  that are used to tackle local or global problems.

The Global Ecovillage Network is a global association of people and communities (ecovillages) dedicated to living "sustainable plus" lives by restoring the land and adding more to the environment than is taken. Network members share ideas and information, transfer technologies and develop cultural and educational exchanges.
